“Han med hatten” uses history’s second oldest form of photographic technique. This technique is called wet plate and dates from 1851. Here, pictures on the cell phone are replaced with handmade photos in silver, taken directly on plates of glass or black lacquered aluminum. The photographer mixes all the chemistry by hand and uses a camera that was produced once between 1902 and 1907. The image plate on which it is to be photographed is developed immediately after the image is taken.
