From the parking lot at Spødavoll, follow the road up to a farmyard where a sign with the text "Topptur" points the way to Vålandstjørna. Follow the red-marked path upward until you reach Vålandstjørna. When you arrive at the tarn, you will immediately spot a small grove where there are several nice tent and hammock spots.
