Trælafjellet
Hammock spots bolted into the mountain
Hike description
On Trælafjellet in Bjerkreim, a total of 33 hammock spots have been bolted, divided into several groupings. The hammock spots have been installed by the enthusiast Helge Husveg. An overview of the spots has been published on Husveg's Instagram.
The trip starts at the parking lot by Skineldvatnet. Red signs and points will guide you up to Trælafjellet. We recommend following the signage towards the "alternative route."
The trip is about 6.5 kilometers round trip from the parking lot. Allow approximately 2.5 hours for the entire round trip. The hike is moderately demanding in summer, but can be somewhat more challenging in winter.
Camping Outdoors in Winter
Camping outdoors in winter requires more planning than in summer, but with good preparations, it can become a fantastic nature experience. Actively use the weather forecast, and bring a map so you can find your way even if the snow covers parts of the trail and markings.
Here are some good tips for your packing list:
- A good winter sleeping bag
- Insulating sleeping pad or wool blanket
- A hot water bottle for the sleeping bag
- Warm clothing
- Headlamp
- Snowshoes and crampons
