At Trælafjellet, you can wake up to a fantastic view over Ørsdalsvatnet.

Hammock Spots Bolted in the mountain

At Trælafjellet in Bjerkreim, there are a total of 33 hammock spots bolted into the mountain, divided into several groups.

The hammock spots were installed by the dedicated Helge Husveg. An overview of the hammock spots is published on Husveg’s Instagram.

Hiking Description

The hike starts at the parking lot by Skineldvatnet. Red signs and markers show the way up to Trælafjellet. We recommend following the signs for the “alternative route.” The hike is approximately 6.5 kilometers round trip from the parking lot. Plan for about 2.5 hours for the entire hike. The hike is moderately demanding in the summer but can be more challenging in the winter.

Winter Camping

Camping outdoors in the winter requires a bit more planning than in the summer, but with good preparations, you can have a fantastic nature experience. Use the weather forecast actively, and bring a map so you can find your way even if snow covers parts of the trail.

Here are some good tips for your packing list:

– A good winter sleeping bag
– Insulating sleeping pad or wool blanket
– A hot water bottle for the sleeping bag
– Warm clothing
– Headlamp
– Snowshoes and crampons
