Gitar og Handverk
At Svela in Bjerkreim municipality, Trond and Anne Rita Gudmestad run a completely unique business. Gitar og Handverk was established as early as 1983, and their pride and passion for the subject has given them a very good reputation both locally and nationally.
Trond is a musician himself, and masters both drums, guitar, bass and dobro. He has restored and repaired guitars and other stringed instruments for over 40 years, and today receives commissions from all over the country. Restoration and repair of instruments is an exact and precision-demanding craft. Restoration is time-consuming, and it usually takes 10-15 hours on an instrument; everything must agree with the customer’s wishes. Nothing is left to chance here. In addition, he also builds his own guitars under the brand name TGitar. All the guitars Trond makes are “custom made”. The bodies are made from scratch from Norwegian svartor, and are built and assembled in the workshop. In addition, Trond sells parts, and always has a good selection in stock, including strings.
Anne Rita has worked with flowers since 1982, and is concerned with nature and reuse. It is clear that she has a passion for the subject, and an enormous creativity and artistic approach to what she creates. In the flower workshop, she makes bouquets, last greetings, bridal bouquets, table decorations and large and small decorations for most occasions. At the end of November, she transforms the flower workshop into a fairy-tale Christmas shop. Then there is an abundance of Christmas baubles, Christmas ornaments, decoration materials, ready-made Advent and Christmas decorations, gravestones and door wreaths. Here it is possible to book your own evenings with friends with food and music. Orders are made by phone. Take a trip to the shop in the old barn, and dream away in Anne Rita’s magical world.
