Hiking Description
The hike starts at the parking lot just after the tunnel from Stavtjørn. Follow the marked trail towards the Kvitlen tourist cabin until you reach Laugarvatnet. Then head southeast up the mountainside. The trail is not marked after Laugarvatnet. The terrain is hilly and demanding. When you reach higher ground, follow the mountain formation in a southwesterly direction until you reach the viewpoint.
The hike up to Eikeknuten is classified as demanding due to approximately 400 meters of elevation gain and partially unmarked trails. The reward is perhaps one of the finest viewpoints over Ørsdalen. Due to the challenging ascent, it may be wise to plan for two overnight stays.
Remember to take care of the nature around you. Take all your trash with you and ensure a leave-no-trace visit. Leave the campsite as you found it so others can experience the same beautiful nature as you.
