Bleiestølen

After many years as a collapsed stone heap, Bleiestølen has been restored by the Association for Mountain Life in Indre Gjesdal. Here you can take a trip for a day visit or stay overnight. The cabin has room for three adults, with one sleeping space downstairs and two in the loft. It is located about 30 meters from Nedre Bleievatnet, where it is possible to swim and fish for trout (requires a fishing license).

The hike is approximately 6.3 kilometers one way and begins at the parking lot by Stavtjørn Vintercamping. The first two kilometers are on an easy-to-walk forest road. Follow the forest road until you reach a barrier marked "Private Road." From the barrier, the hike is marked with blue paint and markers.

Open to Everyone

The cabin is open to all who wish to experience history and nature up close. It serves as a warming hut for monitoring grazing animals while also being a popular destination for outdoor activities and recreation.

A Few, But Important Cabin Rules

1. Overnight stays are reserved for landowners, sheep farmers in the area, and members of the association.
2. Overnight stays are limited to the period from April 15 to October 15.
3. Sheep farmers will have priority in booking overnight stays for monitoring and gathering.
4. All overnight stays must be registered via the booking site.
5. The cabin buildings must always be accessible for day visits. This means that:
   • The building must be kept tidy and open to everyone during the hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
   • Setup for overnight stays must therefore wait until 6:00 PM.
