Hike description

After many years as a collapsed stone pile, Bleiestølen has been rebuilt by the Association for Stølsliv in Indre Gjesdal. Here you can take a trip for a day visit or stay overnight. The cabin accommodates three adults, with one sleeping space downstairs and two in the loft. It is located approximately 30 meters from Nedre Bleievatnet, where it is possible to swim and fish for trout (requires a fishing license).

The trip is about 6.3 km one way and starts at the parking lot at Stavtjørn Vintercamping. The first two kilometers are on an easily walkable forest road. Follow the forest road until you come to a gate marked "Private road." From the gate, the trail is marked with blue paint and markers.

Open to all

The cabin is open to anyone who wants to experience history and nature up close. It serves as a warm room for supervising grazing animals, while also being a popular destination for outdoor activities and recreation.

A few but important cabin rules

  1. Overnight stays are reserved for landowners, sheep farmers in the area, and association members.
  2. Overnight stays are limited to the period from April 15 to October 15.
  3. Sheep farmers will have priority for booking overnight stays in connection with supervision and gathering.
  4. All overnight stays must be registered via the booking page.
  5. The cabin buildings must always be accessible for day visits. This means that:
    • The building must be tidy and open to everyone from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
    • Setup for overnight stays must therefore wait until 6:00 PM.
